  Description: Sign up for the readers card even if you don’t want to take books out as you can then study in all areas of the building. To do so you must provide proof of address and ID (preferably a passport, only UK citizens can show their driver's license). Has a decent lunch service.

  Description: A fabulous coffee shop on Tavistock Place right around the corner from Goodenough. A good selection of sandwiches and excellent coffee. A great study spot (I'm slightly biased I wrote my entire dissertation here - the barristas are friendly and wonderful!) Is the sister shop of Store Street Espresso not far away.

  Description: I love the space for studying and having some drinks after. It is very artistic in terms of decoration. Staff is friendly and they have good coffee. Not many outlets though.

  Description: A great coffee shop on Store Street near the UCL and LSHTM campuses as well as Senate House. Is the sister shop of Continental Stores on Tavistock place. Nice independent - good choice after the British Museum or an Oxford Street shop. Brownies to die for.
