London has a plethora of restaurants to choose from. It is exciting yet can be overwhelming at times as well.
Time Out is an excellent reference to find great restaurant options. It can also be worthwhile to buy the Taste Card to benefit from discounts at select restaurants.
The following pages offer a few suggestions for restaurants nearby/cheaply, where to go for a fancier evening, where to find delicious brunch or where to grab that late night kebab.

Description: Those Goodenoughers studying at UCL without the time to hurry back to college for lunch have an excellent option, just the other side of Euston Station. Roti King is, like many authentic restaurants, oddly signposted and requires going down a flight of stairs on a street that at first glance isn't too salubrious. Go to the east side of Euston station (use the cash machines there too, because you will need cash, as they don't take cards), turn left/north, and head to doric street. Ignore the sign for the Chinese restaurant, for this is nonexistent. Instead, you must descend, noting the sign for 'the best roti ever' (a rather vast boundary spanning claim), to experience your delicious Malaysian treats. The place is pretty small, and you'll instantly see fresh roti (a type of pancake bread) being prepared. It has a good selection of traditional malaysian dishes - for the uninitiated starting out, roti special is just roti with a bowl of curry, rendang is an Indonesian sweet slow-cooked meat dish and nasi lemak is a mixed dish of malaysian favourites. For those of you who don't like spice, the rendang and basic roti curry are fairly mild, and otherwise ask - the guys are friendly, funny and happy to help you. For a special drink, grab tea tarik (super sweet malaysian tea). Prices are low, with the £5-7 main dishes happily being enough for one at lunch. The noodle soups are pretty large if you are hungry, and an extra roti is always an option. All the food is authentic, delicious and worth trying, we recommend avoiding the mainly chinese dishes on the special lunch menu in favour of the fantastic speciality malaysian dishes.Royal Festival Hall

Description: Great pakistani restaurant serving north-west Indian and Pakistani cuisine. You can bring your own alcohol for no fee / small fee. Book in advance and turn up exactly on time. The grilled lamb chops for a starter is their signature dish and the best thing on the menu. Very cheap - spend more than £15/head and you will regret having that much food.Terroirs
